Cherry blossoms are deeply familiar to Japanese people as the flower of spring, and cherry blossoms dominate other plants as a subject of conversation and interest, as evidenced by the media coverage of cherry blossom blooming bulletins.
I wanted to express in my work the yearning for cherry blossoms that is etched in my DNA, so I chose the goddess Konohanasakuya from Japanese mythology as my motif. She is the incarnation of cherry blossoms, so beautiful, strong, proud, and mysterious.
